KPA “GALENTINES DAY” LAUNCH EVENT
Our first event, the “Galentine’s Day” Launch, at Luanda Restaurant & Lounge. The launch event was all about introducing KPA to the world and creating a space for women to celebrate women. We were grateful to have close to 90 women in the room, and the special presence of Ani from Criolas Contra Cancer hosting the event and our keynote speakers – Mayor of Brockton, Bill Carpenter, and State Rep. Liz Miranda.
CONNECTING ISLANDS: A NETWORKING AND PERSONAL BRANDING SYMPOSIUM
KPA hosted “Connecting Islands: A Networking and Personal Branding Symposium,” as part of the 2019 City Awake Festival: Energizing Millennials of Color to Unlock Boston’s Promise. Through fun and engaging activities, KPA offered self-improvement opportunities that supplement professional development and personal growth. We highlighted two keynote speakers, Bidemi Palmer and Dr. Terza A. Silva Lima-Neves, who both aspire to educate, influence, and inspire others through their networking and personal branding experiences. Additionally, we had workshops, a profile head-shots area, and a range of expert guidance and advice regarding professionalism, including resume and interviewing tips.
KPA REAL ESTATE WORKSHOP
Hosted in collaboration with Amilton Baptista & Nilton DePina Real Estate agents and KPA Official Partners, the Real Estate Workshop focused on the key steps to successfully buying your first home, and how to add value to your property. There were also opportunities for attendees to win raffle prizes from our sponsors: Criola’s Contra Cancer, interior design consultation by Irene Depina, and We Lit Entertainment.
CABO VERDEAN WOMEN’S PAINT NIGHT
Our first paint night event, in honor of Women’s Month in March, as well as Cabo Verdean Women’s Day (Dia da Mulher Cabo Verdiana) on March 27th. The paint night was hosted by Yolanda Smith. We also had a variety of sponsors who supported our event and donated prizes for raffles as well!
